I keep seeing the Beasts but I can’t imagine they’re kept anywhere but the White House. A few weeks ago I saw them getting put through their paces around a coned parking lot. Presidential autocross, anyone?

One of those cones was probably trump.

There’s a few. They get flow in a C5/C130 with a few other vehicles ahead of everyone else.

take 2 on journeys, one leaps ahead ready for when he gets there.
one stays behind in the White House for his return i guess?
i could be completely wrong too.

Trump’s autocross course is 80% left turns, then a few very sharp rights at the end.

From my observation there are two current generation limos (beasts). I could be completely wrong, but they’re so expensive I doubt there are more than two. You’ll see the prior generation limos being used as extras for the VP/other ViP.
I notice on trips involving terrain or the potential for offroad, the Secret Service switches to the armored Suburbans and Tahoes for the Pres and Vice Pres. I presume this is for 4WD, ground clearance and anonymity.

I haven’t seen the DTS-based limos yet. These are really hard to mistake for anything else as well, and typically I see both of them at the same time. I wonder if they keep them wherever I’m at for servicing/updates.

The last order was for 12 cars, so there’s a dozen of the current generation, plus at least a few of the prior DTS generation still in use as backup/decoy vehicles.

There may be as many as 12? Sorry for the Fox News link. Are you seeing the new CT6 based ones?

No - just the ones used by the previous administration.

I would guess there are probably around a dozen of them. I’ve seen a couple of presidential motorcades, and there were always 3-5 of them with only one having the prez and the rest being decoys. At minimum, I would assume the logistics to be no fewer than 3 in a motorcade at a time, probably the same number back with the C-17 at the nearest airfield as backups, and at least the same number back East being serviced/inspected/used for training at any given time.

^that one
I knew it was bigger then a C130 but thought the C% was too big and there are too few but couldn’t remember the Globemaster for some reason. Now that I think of it, I’ve seen 2 Globemaster flyovers at Football games and woof, those are still big, loud, planes.

130s are too small and too slow. C-5s are too big and have a terrible MC rate. C-17s are fast, reliable and sized just right.
